The Senior National Team the Black Stars in a dramatic fashion lost 3-4 to Japan in an International Friendly played in Holland on Wednesday.

The Stars surrendered a 3-1 lead in the last quarter of the game after the Japanese rallied back to score three quick goals to win the encounter by 4 goals to 3.

Asamoah Gyan who earned a starting role for the first time in little over a year, shot the Stars ahead in the first half when he expertly converted a penalty kick.

The striker again increased the tally to two in the early embers of the second half, but Kengo Nakumura quickly reduced the deficit for the Japanese.

Substitute Mathew Amoah restored the two goals difference, but a string of poor substitutions perhaps let the Stars down.

First choice goal keeper, Richard Kingston was out and his place taken by William Amamoo, but the Swedish based goal keeper proved unlucky picking all four goals from his net.

Tamada, Okazaki and Junichi Inamoto all scored to end the winning streak of the Black Stars.

Both the Black Stars and Japan have secured qualification into the World Cup in South Africa.
